The Retrofit Ready initiative funds non-capital professional and technical services that support retrofit readiness and implementation.
Stream 1:
Recommissioning & Building Optimization
Recommissioning and Building Optimization helps buildings perform better using the systems already in place. By fine‑tuning equipment and controls, this work improves comfort, reliability, and energy efficiency without major capital upgrades. It’s a cost‑effective way to reduce energy waste and get more value from existing assets.
Stream 2:
Monitoring & Tracking Systems (Setup & Configuration)
Monitoring and Tracking Systems give building owners real‑time insight into how energy is used across their facilities. With advanced monitoring, sub‑metering, and analytics, owners can move from reactive fixes to proactive energy management. The result is smarter
Certifications and standards
Certifications are a powerful way to demonstrate a building’s performance, sustainability and leadership in energy management. BOMA Enspire provides funding support for eligible certification-related costs such as third-party consultant fees and application expenses.
Funding for certifications and standards is limited to one per building. Certification fees are eligible only if the building has never been certified before or if its previous certification expired more than 18 months prior to the application date. Recertification fees for currently certified buildings or certifications that expired within the past 18 months are not eligible.

Business Case Development
Business Case Development helps organizations confidently evaluate energy and decarbonization investments before committing capital. Through expert financial and technical analysis, building owners can clearly understand costs, benefits, risks, and returns. This support makes it easier to secure approvals, attract funding, and move projects forward.
Stream 4:
Retrofit Coordinators
Retrofit Coordinators provide hands‑on project support to plan, manage, and deliver energy efficiency and decarbonization upgrades. From simple improvements to complex deep retrofits, this role helps keep projects on track, on budget, and minimally disruptive. The focus is on turning plans into successful, well‑executed outcomes.
