Funding Initiatives
In 2025, BOMA Enspire delivered two strategic funding initiatives to provide mid-tier commercial building owners and managers with targeted support for retrofit-related activities.
QUICK START INITIATIVE:
JANUARY 28 –
MARCH 31, 2025
Offered to owners or managers of Class B & C commercial buildings that meet the following criteria:
- Built before 2010
- Under 200,000 sq. ft.
- Connected to ENERGY STAR(r) Portfolio Manager (ESPM)
- No ASHRAE audit within the past five years
Eligible participants received 100% coverage of audit costs, up to a maximum of $10,000 per building, for ASHRAE-level audits.
Funding outcomes
- Total funding disbursed: $1,925,200 of an available $2,000,000
- 199 buildings funded for energy audits
- Total floor space impacted: 1,213,824 m2

BUILDING
PERFORMANCE EXCELLENCE INITIATIVE
The Building Performance Excellence Initiative provided funding support to advance energy performance improvements across a range of commercial building types.
Funding outcomes
- Total funding disbursed: $7,285,271.21 of an available $7,750,000
- 1215 applications submitted across 12 activity streams (Includes Waitlist,
- Withdrawn, ineligible – this is SUBMITTED applications only, not necessarily approved)
- 545 buildings with applications
- 18 million sq. ft. in approved applications
