The BOMA Enspire Retrofit Ready initiative provides financial support to mid-tier commercial building owners and managers seeking to improve energy performance and take the necessary steps to prepare for deep retrofits.
Funding is available
for four activities:
- Recommissioning and building optimization
- Energy monitoring and tracking systems
- Business case development
- Retrofit coordinators
Funding thresholds range from 60% to 80% of eligible pre-tax costs, up to specified caps based on building size and activity type.
Initiative duration: April 1, 2026, to March 5, 2027
The initiative funds non-capital professional and technical services that support retrofit readiness and implementation. Capital expenditures, including new equipment or systems, are not eligible for funding.
All funding amounts and caps are exclusive of applicable taxes.
BOMA Enspire is delivered by BOMA Canada with $24.9 million in funding from Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) through its Deep Retrofit Accelerator Initiative (DRAI). Learn more about the DRAI program here and BOMA Canada.

To apply for funding, participants must create a profile and register their business and property through the BOMA Enspire portal.
